BirthRhythms
Class returns with a new day and time, but the same lovely place!
My home base will be the beautiful and good mojo studio, The Movement Shala! I chose this studio because it is the home of so much juicy energy and great intention. Also, it is not affiliated with a specific caregiver or birthplace, therefore; there is no agenda other than what if offered in class. The knowledge gained in class can truly empower mothers to be and their families as they journey into birthing.
Please visit their website so you can see a virtual tour of the studio. It’s sacred space indeed.
Classes will be held on SUNDAYS: 2:00- 3:30 PM
Cost is $12 drop in or prepay $40 for 4 classes and use anytime.
A class series of 4-6 weeks will follow a particular elemental theme, rhythm, or movement..or all three.
Other class times and locations are in the works! If you are interested in bringing BirthRhythms to your space/studio/center, please contact me at thealtparent@gmail.com or 520.907.9709
About BirthRhythms – Rhythms of the Earth to Support Your Birth(tm) – a movement and dance class focused on preparing the body for a strong, healthy pregnancy and easier birth. The movement will be based in the traditional and tribal music and dances of the Earth’s cultures, as well as the elements of nature. Classes are well suited to beginners, and will be grounded and gentle while building strength and awareness in your body.
Women were designed to be mobile and vertical for their births, and the focus of these classes will help women build the strength and flexibility to make that choice. Discussion of optimal positioning for mother and baby will be offered at every class. Classes are inspired by master dance teacher, Rosangela Silvestre (www.silvestretraining.com), my teachers Yarrow King and Jade Beall. One day a friend of mine posted on Facebook that they took a “Dancing for Birth” training. As soon as I saw those words, I was inspired to take what I had learned and combine it with this training. I flew to Boulder, Colorado for my Dancing for Birth training (http://www.dancingforbirth.com/) with Stephanie Larson. I am available to teach classes in this specific format as well as my BirthRhythms format.
